PhiL was being considered for an NAACP award. At the gala event many of his friends came out to support him. One of those friends Gerard Loff decided to record PhiL with his friends. Unfortunately, PhiL didn’t get the nod but, after viewing the footage of PhiL and his friends, Kickin’ it wit PhiL was created!

Here PhiL interviews friends in an intimate setting, who have inspired or encouraged him and also artists, writers, musicians and entrepreneurs on the rise.

One of PhiL’s favorite interviews was with Ernest Thomas of What’s Happening and Everybody Hates Chris. Mr. Thomas came to see PhiL’s show Tha’ Intimate PhiL twice! On his second visit he even brought friends and costar Darnell “Lil Dee” Spencer from What’s Happening. PhiL was moved by his support and most of all faith!
